What does community-driven development look like at scale?
CODI’s performance report for 2024 gives an account of how various community organizations within Thailand have worked to facilitate their development in terms of securing housing, local development planning, community welfare, livelihoods, and improved cooperation with the local authorities and development partners.
In 2024, CODI supported 1,628 model sub-districts for community self-management, while its housing programmes reached thousands of households through initiatives including Baan Mankong, Baan Por Piang, canal-side housing development, disaster housing, and housing for communities affected by railway development. Beyond statistics, this report talks about the systems that are behind these achievements. These include community savings and cooperatives, local development planning, community welfare systems, capacity building, knowledge exchange, and partnerships that have facilitated the transformation of communities into actors of their own futures.
